How To Set Up E-Mail Accounts

NEW ACCOUNT INSTRUCTIONS

How to set up your e-mail client program (Outlook Express or MS Outlook). In the instructions below, fields shown with square brackets, i.e., [First], signify fields where you will replace the brackets and their contents with something else, i.e., JOHN. The specific fields [user_name] and [pword] will have been supplied to you by (separate) direct communications with Virtualpath's webmaster. Use those values for these two data fields.

Your new e-mail account has been created:

new_user@virtualpath.com

Here is how your Outlook Express will be set up to access your e-mail

1) Open your e-mail program

2) For Outlook/Outlook Express, Click on TOOLS > ACCOUNTS > ADD > MAIL

*Connection Wizard should open now - continue... - Or you can choose PROPERTIES and enter this information manually

3)Type in DISPLAY NAME = [Choose the name you want displayed for your account]

4) If you're using a connection wizard, check "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use"

5) ADDRESS = [user_name]@virtualpath.com (-all lowercase only!) >NEXT

6) INCOMING MAIL IS "POP3"

INCOMING MAIL SERVER = mail.virtualpath.com

OUTGOING SMTP SERVER = mail.virtualpath.com > NEXT

7) ACCOUNT NAME = [user_name]

PASSWORD = [pword] >NEXT

8) Choose FINISH


You have created your account - a few more steps are still needed

9) Click APPLY > OK If you have obsolete accounts to remove, highlight these and click REMOVE or DELETE . If you have more e-mail accounts to add, click ADD now. When you're finished, click CLOSE

* You can add your new account to your address book and send yourself a message to test your e-mail
