OH NO! -NOT AGAIN!

LAPIN PARTY USA PRESIDENTIAL RACE 2008?

Virtualpath & The Lapin Party originally ran the Onyx For President campaign in Y2000. VP readers may be shocked at the attacks this satire (and protest against the "two-party" system) caused, but even as a satirical work that was never-quite-finished, the indictment against USA Republican/Democratic domination of voter choices was fairly brutal. Loyalty for VP's "campaign" was incredible. Throughout America, car windows and lawns sprouted "Onyx - Louie" posters in protest against voter manipulation by the US political system.

I never intended to expose my dear friends, these bunnies, to such public attention, but also couldn't have anticipated how many readers were desperate to make a statement to everyone that they were also fed-up with looser choices from Democrats and Republican parties that could not represent them, their families, nor working America's needs and desires.

So, after the campaign, our ONYX FOR PRESIDENT archive was removed, then replaced after overwhelming protest was received from readers in the US, S. America, and around the world who asked why it had to be removed. (!) Some mail from overseas said the material was used by their school english classes to study prose. (!!!) (I thought it would be good for typo and punctuation correction training instead.) Although VP could not repeat the effort four years later, the traffic has never slacked off the ONYX-LOUIE pages and many want another VP campaign for the US 2008 elections. I can assure you, dear readers, that the donkey and elephant dudes DO NOT!

Here's a scoop tidbit: If we run a campaign, the Lapin candidates will be a Native American cottontail and a california bunny. What do ya' think?
